Dhoni's IPL argument absurd: BCCI

Mumbai: The BCCI has shot down Indian captain M.S. Dhoni's contention that post-match parties during the IPL were responsible for the team's disastrous performance in the T20 World Cup.

BCCI Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty on Wednesday said that attending the IPL parties were never mandatory for the players.

Mumbai: "Appu", the elephant was the mascot of the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi and almost two decades down the line, the pachyderm has been chosen to perform the same role at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 to be jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
