Thiruvananthapuram: Pakistan cricketer Mohammed Asif may lose the chance to act in a Malayalam film, if the spot-fixing allegation against the fast-bowler is proved.
Award-winning lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri had roped in the cricketer for his directorial debut 'Mazhavillinnattamvare', (Till the tip of the rainbow) but he is now having second thoughts.
"I will wait for a few more days. If the allegation against Asif is true he will be dropped on moral grounds,"

‘Arakkalan Mukkal Kallan’ Features Mohanlal And Mammootty
Mollywood is going to watch a huge blockbuster in 2011 as two megastars of the industry Mammootty and Mohanlal are coming together. Mammootty has announced that the movie titled “Arakkkalan Mukkal Kallan’, which will be produced under his banner “Playhouse’ and it, will be a multi starrer movie.
The two megastars will be playing the lead roles in this movie, which is said to be a hilarious thriller flick. Hit writers Sibi K Thomas-Udhay Krishna duo has penned the script of the movie and they will also direct it.
’Urumy' starts in Mumbai
‘Urumy' the movie that is expected to be a path breaker in Mollywood will start its shoot today. Scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan, this period film will be shot at many locations near Mumbai and in Kerala.
Directed by Santhosh Sivan, the movie features young superstar Prithviraj as Kelu Nambiar, the leader of a group trying to kill Vasco Da gama , who landed in Kerala in 1498. Genelia D Souza, Vidya Balan, Prabhu Deva and good number of actors from Bollywood are also part of the cast of this thriller movie, which will be produced by Santhosh Sivan and Prithviraj.

Prithviraj to play Mohammed Abdul Rahman Sahib onscreen
Addressing a press conference here to announce the launch of the project, P T Kunju Muhammed, writer and a former MLA, said this would be a commercial film based on the life and times of Rahman Sahib, considered a secular politician of India.
The film would traverse Sahib's life and his struggle in the freedom movement. Sahib had discontinued studies at Aligarh Muslim university to participate in the non-cooperation movement and Khilafat movement.
Kavalkaran Vs Kaval Actor Vijay News
Chennai: Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s 51st movie has been titled as Kavalkaran. The movie is the Tamil remake of Malayalam movie Body Guard. Directed by Siddique, Kavalkaran features Vijay and Asin in the lead roles.
Vijay will play the role done by Dileep while Asin is going to do Nayanthara’s role in the Malayalam original. Director Siddique has made some minor changes in the Tamil version to suit Vijay’s style.
Vijay was shown the preview of the movie along with his wife earlier and Vijay liked the script and immediately expressed his wish to remake it in Tamil. Body Guard is a romantic comedy and a family entertainer with sentiments too.
